OHIO UNION AT OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
The Ohio Union is a student activity center at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The Ohio Union serves as one of two student activity centers at Ohio State; Drake Union is the other student activity center. The Ohio Union provides facilities for student activities, organizations and events, and serves as a meeting place for campus and community interaction.
The previous Ohio Union building, which opened in 1951, has been replaced by a new building. Demolition and construction began in 2007. The new building strives to be a model facility for other universities, like the original building was when it was completed.
he new union is the nation's largest union in the country, and serves what is currently the largest student body in the nation. The new building is LEED certified, according to the U.S. Green Building Council.
